According to the Korea Exchange on the 31st, foreign investors net sold approximately 1.2087 trillion KRW in the domestic stock market during the week from the 25th to the 29th. Foreign investors sold 1.1967 trillion KRW in the KOSPI market and 12 billion KRW in the KOSDAQ market, respectively.
The stock most purchased by foreign investors last week was LG Chem. Foreign investors net bought LG Chem for 165.2 billion KRW last week. This was followed by Samsung SDI, which they purchased for 154.6 billion KRW. Other net purchases included Kia (120.3 billion KRW), SK Hynix (115.1 billion KRW), KB Financial Group (100.6 billion KRW), EcoPro BM (68.8 billion KRW), Doosan Fuel Cell (64.4 billion KRW), Kakao (63.5 billion KRW), Naver (NAVER·61.8 billion KRW), and HMM (57.9 billion KRW).
The stock most sold by foreign investors last week was Samsung Electronics. Foreign investors net sold Samsung Electronics for 597.5 billion KRW last week. This was followed by LG Household & Health Care, which they sold for 202.8 billion KRW. Other top net sales included POSCO (POSCO·109 billion KRW), LG Electronics (91.9 billion KRW), Samsung Electro-Mechanics (57.9 billion KRW), Samsung Electronics Preferred Shares (54.4 billion KRW), SK Telecom (53 billion KRW), Kakao Games (48.9 billion KRW), Hyundai Mobis (48.5 billion KRW), and Kakao Bank (42.6 billion KRW).
The KOSPI is still expected to show a box range movement. Kim Younghwan, a researcher at NH Investment & Securities, said, "The ongoing battle of known factors such as U.S. tapering (asset purchase reduction), Korea's reopening (return to normal life), solid third-quarter earnings, and global supply chain disruptions will continue," adding, "The KOSPI is expected to maintain a box range centered around 3,000 points."
