[Asia Economy Reporter Na Yeeun] A story was revealed about parked cars being damaged by neighbor's dogs.

On the 29th, an online community Bobae Dream posted a message titled "A dog crashed into my car. Please help." The author, Mr. A, said, "I parked my car, and four dogs started climbing on it, possibly because there was a cat."

He continued, "The driver's seat, passenger fender, bumper under the passenger seat, and the front of the hood were all scratched and even gouged," adding, "I showed the dogs to a coworker, and it was confirmed that they belonged to a neighbor's house."

Mr. A said, "I didn't want to talk directly with the dog owner, so I reported it to the police," and "The police told me it was property damage, but since the owner had no intent and the dog cannot be held responsible, criminal punishment is impossible, and only civil claims for damages are possible."

He said, "I don't understand why it can't be reported when the dog has an owner and caused the damage," and "When I contacted the insurance company, they told me 'It will be easier to handle if you report it, so please report it first.'"

He added, "If I pay out of my own pocket, the repair costs will be high due to the many damaged areas, and if I use my own car insurance, the premium will surely increase," and appealed, "Please help so that the report can be accepted."

Netizens who saw the post responded with comments such as "The dog owner should obviously be responsible for accidents caused by their dog," "Talk directly to the dog owner," and "Report the owner for letting the dog off the leash and without a muzzle, impose a fine, and claim compensation."
