[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] SK Hynix announced on the 29th that it will acquire 8,296 shares of Kipa Foundry, a foundry and semiconductor manufacturing service company, for 575.8 billion KRW.
After acquiring the shares, SK Hynix's stake in Kipa Foundry will become 100%. SK Hynix stated that the purpose of this acquisition is "to expand the company's existing 8-inch foundry production capacity and to secure Kipa Foundry's semiconductor production facilities and related patents."
