Lee Soon-ja, the wife of former President Chun Doo-hwan, visited the funeral hall of the late former President Roh Tae-woo on the 28th to pay her respects. As she left the funeral hall, she got into a car and left without responding to questions such as whether she had any intention to apologize regarding the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement. It is reported that former President Chun is unable to attend in person due to health issues. Former Presidents Chun and Roh were classmates at the Korea Military Academy. After the December 12 military coup in 1979, which brought Chun to power, they established themselves as the top leader and second-in-command, respectively.
