Jeonju City Holds Character Contest Using 'Kkotshim' BI

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 28th that it will hold the "2021 Kkotsim Jeonju Character Contest" using the Jeonju Spirit ‘Kkotsim’ BI from the 1st to the 30th of next month.

This contest is being held to raise awareness of the Jeonju Spirit ‘Kkotsim’ and to discover characters that can approach citizens more familiarly.

Any Korean citizen can participate, and participants must submit one character image (A4 size) using ‘Korea’s Kkotsim Jeonju’.

To apply, check the announcement on the Jeonju City website, then visit or mail your submission to the Jeonju City Humanities and Lifelong Education Department, or send the original file via email.

Jeonju City will form a panel of experts to select winners and plans to announce the results on the Jeonju City website on December 13.

The grand prize winner will receive 2 million won, the excellence award 1 million won, the merit award 500,000 won, and the encouragement award 100,000 won. Additionally, participants will receive a gift certificate worth 10,000 won.

Notably, the selected works from the contest will be released as emoticons next year and used for promotional purposes.

Meanwhile, ‘Korea’s Kkotsim Jeonju’ is a term encompassing four common sentiments held by Jeonju people: Daedong (community spirit), Pungnyu (artistic elegance), Olgodum (integrity), and Changsin (innovation), established in 2016.
