The Incheon Airport Express Center is located in the Incheon Free Trade Zone and covers a total floor area of approximately 230,000㎡, housing the ICC Center and GDC Center.

[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] CJ Logistics announced on the 28th that its Incheon GDC (Global Distribution Center) has received the ‘Smart Logistics Center Grade 1 Certification’ from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. This is the company’s second time receiving the Smart Logistics Center Grade 1 certification, following the Gonjiam Mega Hub Terminal in August.

The Incheon GDC stores products from overseas online shopping malls and ships them abroad when customer orders come in from East Asian regions such as Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. It opened in January 2019 and handles an average of 20,000 boxes daily.

In this certification, the Incheon GDC was highly evaluated for increasing customer satisfaction through automated facilities, operating systems, and organic work processing procedures.

The center consists of IT systems for order processing and import/export declarations, automated facilities such as QPS (Quick Picking System), smart packaging, and multi-sided barcode scanners, and operating systems that control these. All processes are automated, and through cooperation with the Korea Customs Service, the time from customer order to delivery has been reduced by more than half.

In 2018, CJ Logistics established the Incheon Airport Express Center with a total floor area of approximately 230,000㎡ within the Incheon Free Trade Zone to smoothly handle the increasing volume of direct and reverse international shipments. This center includes the ICC (Inbound Custom Clearance) Center, responsible for customs clearance of goods entering Korea from overseas, and the GDC Center, which ships products ordered by customers residing in East Asian countries.

A CJ Logistics official said, “Borders are disappearing in shopping, and rapid customs clearance and delivery between countries have become essential capabilities for logistics companies,” adding, “We will provide optimal global logistics services to customers by utilizing advanced technologies based on robots, AI, and big data, as well as a global network of 279 bases in 40 overseas countries.”
