[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] An absurd incident occurred where a university professor conducted an online class while soaking in a bathtub.

According to an SBS report on the 27th, during a remote class of a major at Hanyang University ERICA Campus that morning, Professor A was caught conducting the class from the bathroom.

This lecture was being conducted by voice only, but suddenly the webcam was turned on during the class, revealing Professor A soaking in a bathtub. After realizing the camera was on, Professor A quickly turned it off and continued the class.

The students attending this lecture reacted with disbelief. Student B said, "It was shocking. I came to attend this class, not a bath appreciation class," adding, "Even after the incident, there was no mention of it, and the professor calmly continued with class-related topics. During the class, the sound of splashing water was heard repeatedly."

The students suspected that Professor A's 'bath online lecture' was not the first time. There had been talks among students about hearing crying or water sounds during previous classes.

B said, "About two weeks ago, a fellow student told me they heard water sounds," adding, "I thought maybe the professor was doing a foot bath. I assumed there must be some reason and let it go..."

Professor A sent an email to the students attending the class, apologizing by saying, "After receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, I had a high fever and forced myself to conduct the class without canceling it, which led to this unfortunate incident." It is known that Professor A explained to the school that they had never conducted a class from the bathroom before.

In relation to this, the school announced on the 28th that they would hold a personnel committee meeting to verify the facts and decide whether to discipline Professor A.
