Meeting with National Assembly Standing Committee Chairs and Secretaries to Propose Budget Inclusion for Key Projects
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Song Ha-jin, Governor of Jeonbuk Province, visited the National Assembly to exert efforts for the inclusion of next year's budget for key core projects of the province.
Governor Song met with Lee Chae-ik, Standing Committee Chair of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, to request cooperation for budget inclusion for major cultural tourism projects aimed at boosting the pride and establishing the identity of Jeonbuk residents.
The key projects include the establishment of the Jeolla Confucianism Promotion Institute and the Gochang-Buan Donghak Peasant Revolution Sacred Site Development Project.
Additionally, Governor Song met with Song Seok-jun, the People Power Party lawmaker from Gunsan City and Secretary of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, to ask for interest and support for the passage of the preliminary feasibility study and the establishment of the basic plan for the "Saemangeum Regional Connecting Road Construction" project, as well as the Saemangeum International Airport construction project, ecological tidal flat platform creation, and the Jeonju Carbon Material Smart Green Industrial Complex project.
To Kim Tae-heum, Chair of the Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs and Oceans Committee, he proposed budget inclusion for projects such as the establishment of a prototype production support platform for veterinary medicines, creation of the National Food Cluster Food Park, establishment of an agricultural climate change response education foundation, and construction of a demonstration complex for tracked agricultural machinery.
Furthermore, he met with Shin Jeong-hoon, a member of the Industry and Trade Committee and expected participant in the Budget and Accounts Subcommittee, to request cooperation for the new or increased budget inclusion for projects such as the establishment of a test and certification platform for hydrogen storage containers using carbon fiber, digital twin for bioenergy and eco-friendly transportation demonstration research infrastructure, the 'Process Innovation Simulation Center,' and advanced human resource training for smart manufacturing.
Meanwhile, following his activities at the National Assembly standing committees on the 27th, Governor Song plans to hold a budget policy consultation meeting with Jeonbuk-affiliated lawmakers in Yeouido on the 28th to request cooperation and support for Jeonbuk Province's key projects.
