[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education welcomes Afghan children and adolescents who have come to Yeosu and supports educational programs to help them adapt early to Korean society and public education.


According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 27th, 391 Afghan special contributors who visited the Republic of Korea entered the Yeosu Coast Guard Education Center on the same day and will receive education on adapting to Korean society until February next year.


The Office of Education plans to provide high-quality educational programs necessary for school life, focusing on Korean language, as well as psychology and counseling, arts, creativity, and convergence, in cooperation with related organizations such as the Jeonnam International Education Institute and Yeosu Office of Education.


Superintendent Jang Seok-woong said, “We welcome the children and adolescents from Afghanistan and hope they have a comfortable and happy time during their stay.”


He added, “I hope the programs provided by the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education will be of great help to Afghan children and adolescents starting a new life in an unfamiliar land.”
