[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 27th that it has joined the 'Metaverse Alliance,' becoming the first company in the household goods industry to do so.

The Metaverse Alliance is a public-private consultative body led by the Ministry of Science and ICT. It promotes technological cooperation and joint projects for the development of the metaverse industry and works on improving related laws and systems. The alliance includes over 500 member companies from fields such as ▲IT solutions ▲shopping ▲tourism ▲education ▲community ▲manufacturing ▲public sector ▲medical sector, with Yuhan-Kimberly being the only household goods company participating.

Along with its activities in the 'Metaverse Alliance,' Yuhan-Kimberly is linking the metaverse with various areas such as smart work, customer communication, and social contribution, expecting synergies.

Furthermore, as citizen-participatory social contribution activities were curtailed due to COVID-19, Yuhan-Kimberly utilized the metaverse to conduct the 'Green Camp' and the 'Life Love Newlywed School Program.' Additionally, through internal experience programs, the company has enhanced employees' understanding of the metaverse. Through these efforts, Yuhan-Kimberly is promoting the implementation of a virtual office that enables collaboration and communication anytime and anywhere, branding targeting the MZ generation, and the development of various digital contents.

A Yuhan-Kimberly official stated, "With the expansion of remote collaboration and increased non-face-to-face customer communication triggered by COVID-19, a more flexible corporate culture and system are required," adding, "We will strive to enhance corporate culture flexibility and strengthen customer communication based on the scalability of the metaverse."
