Gangjin-gun Increases Resident Convenience with Parking Lot Development Gangjin-gun Nammun Parking Lot ? Asia Economy

[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that it is operating the Nammun Parking Lot, a three-story parking facility with 62 spaces, newly constructed at 18-11 Namseong-ri, Gangjin-eup, through a 2 billion won public project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The usage fee for the 1st and 2nd floors of Nammun Parking Lot is free for the first 1 hour and 30 minutes, with an additional charge of 500 won every 30 minutes thereafter. The 3rd floor is free to use, and all three floors are open free of charge on weekends.

The county plans to install security CCTV and privacy protection facilities within the parking lot to prevent crimes and safety accidents, and will collect, review, and reflect residents' opinions.

Also, due to the increase in illegal parking and stopping of vehicles around apartment complexes from new constructions in the area, complaints from nearby residents have increased, so the county is creating a temporary parking lot on the site at 17 Goseong-gil, Gangjin-eup.

The roadside in front of Pyeongdong Village Atrium has completed crushed stone paving work and is being operated as a temporary parking lot. Plans will be established in the future to build and operate a public parking lot around the Atrium.

In particular, to prevent illegal parking and stopping near schools, a Sinseong Village parking lot was newly established near Jungang Elementary School. It is expected that illegal parking and stopping will decrease and students' safe commuting to and from school will be secured.

County Governor Lee Seung-ok stated, “We have created parking lots in several places including Nammun Parking Lot to ensure safe walking and secure parking spaces for residents, and we will continue to strive for the safety and convenience of residents.”

Meanwhile, the county is steadily establishing convenience facilities such as parking lots for the safety and convenience of residents, and is promoting projects to secure parking spaces for residents near residential areas and apartments to ensure residents' traffic safety.
