[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seohyun] A heartwarming story has been shared about a highway bus driver who helped a passenger who missed the boarding time and received fruit as a gift.

On the 24th, a post titled "The first time in 6 years as a highway bus driver that I received this" was uploaded on the online community 'Bobaedream'.

The author, Mr. A, who identified himself as a highway bus driver, began by saying, "A little while ago, while standing at the home terminal waiting for passengers from Seoul to Anseong, I met a middle-aged female passenger."

Mr. A explained, "When this passenger tried to scan her ticket to board the bus, the message 'Please check your ticket' kept appearing. After asking for her understanding and checking the ticket, I found out that the ticket she had was for the 18:10 bus, which had already departed."

Hearing that she missed the bus she absolutely had to take to get home, the passenger tearfully asked for help, but the 18:25 bus Mr. A was driving was already sold out.

However, Mr. A calmly reassured the passenger, explaining, "There are two ways for you to board my bus. One is if a canceled ticket becomes available, you can purchase a ticket on-site using your credit card. The other is if any reserved passengers do not show up, you can pay in cash and board."

Since the passenger did not have cash, she had to wait for a canceled ticket, and Mr. A waited with her. Fortunately, miraculously, three minutes before departure, one passenger canceled their boarding, releasing one canceled ticket, and with one seat freed up, the passenger was able to return home.

Upon arriving at the destination, the passenger got off at the stop and suddenly handed the author two pears.

She said warmly, "I have never seen such a kind driver like you. If it had been another driver, I don't think they would have cared, but thanks to you, I was able to get home. Thank you so much," as she handed over the pears.

Mr. A humbly responded on the online community, "Even if it had been another driver, I would have treated her kindly like that. I will enjoy the pears."

Netizens who saw this reacted with comments such as, "It could have been ignored, but helping someone in a difficult situation is heartwarming," "This warms my heart," and "It reminded me of when my parents received help from someone in a tough situation."
