Naver Achieves A+ Grade in ESG Evaluation by KCGS

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver announced on the 27th that it has obtained a comprehensive A+ rating, one step higher than last year, in the '2021 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Evaluation' conducted by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS).

Specifically, Naver received an A+ rating in the governance sector for the second consecutive year, an upgraded A rating in the environmental sector, and maintained an A rating in the social sector, the same as last year.

Naver is strengthening ESG management in the environmental and social sectors by implementing a roadmap to achieve '2040 Carbon Negative,' adopting and certifying environmental management systems (ISO14001) and anti-corruption management systems (ISO37001).

In this evaluation, 14 companies including Naver received a comprehensive A+ rating, and in the governance sector, a total of 8 companies including Naver obtained an A+ rating.

Previously, Naver was the first domestic company to receive an AAA rating in the ESG evaluation by the global ESG rating agency Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), and in October, it also won grand prizes at the global annual report and sustainability report evaluation competitions, the ‘ARC Awards’ and the ‘LACP Vision Awards’.

Park Sangjin, Naver CFO, said, "Naver is preparing to establish and introduce an advanced human rights management system that encompasses dedicated human rights organizations, members, partners, and users," adding, "We will continue to strive to become a trusted company."
