SK Telecom launches 'KB Kookmin Smart Keeper Card' using care devices in partnership with KB Card

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Telecom announced on the 27th that it has partnered with KB Kookmin Card to launch the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) specialized product, ‘KB Kookmin Smart Jikimi Card,’ which utilizes the safety care service for socially vulnerable groups called ‘Smart Jikimi 2.’


Smart Jikimi 2 is an IoT-based wearable location tracking device developed by SK Telecom, designed for socially vulnerable groups such as dementia patients and individuals with developmental disabilities. Its features include ▲accurate location information and movement path tracking ▲health information monitoring such as heart rate ▲fall risk detection ▲automatic SOS call in emergency situations, providing functions for preventing disappearance and managing risk situations.


The KB Kookmin Smart Jikimi Card offers various benefits including a refund discount on installment payments for the Smart Jikimi 2 device when monthly spending exceeds 500,000 KRW, as well as discounts of up to 30,000 KRW per month on ▲telecommunication fees ▲taxi and UT (Uti) automatic payments ▲hospital, pharmacy, delivery app, and large supermarket usage.


Customers who purchase the Smart Jikimi 2 device through designated channels with a 24-month installment plan using the Smart Jikimi Card can receive a fixed monthly discount of up to 10,000 KRW on their card payment amount, depending on their previous month’s spending.


Additionally, if the previous month’s spending on the Smart Jikimi Card is ▲500,000 KRW or more, a monthly discount of 5,000 KRW ▲1,000,000 KRW or more, a monthly discount of 10,000 KRW is provided during the device installment period. The discount is capped at a maximum of 3,000 KRW per month for spending over 500,000 KRW and 5,000 KRW per month for spending over 1,000,000 KRW.


Furthermore, for taxi services and UT automatic payments, a 5% discount on the payment amount is offered up to a maximum of 5,000 KRW per month based on the previous month’s spending. For the four sectors of hospital, pharmacy, delivery apps, and large supermarkets, a 5% discount is provided up to a maximum of 10,000 KRW per month depending on the previous month’s spending.


The annual fee for this card is 15,000 KRW, and if issued as a mobile-only card registered on a smartphone without a plastic card, the fee is 9,000 KRW. Card applications can be made at KB Kookmin Bank branches nationwide, as well as through the KB Kookmin Card website, mobile application, customer center, and branches.
