"Cheaper Than Wholesale" … Emart's 'Hanwoo Day' for Four Days Starting the 29th


[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Emart announced on the 27th that from the 29th to the 1st of next month, it will hold a 'Hanwoo Day' event offering up to 50% discount on Hanwoo beef when paying with Emart e-Card and promotional cards such as Samsung, KB Kookmin, Shinhan, and Hyundai cards.


Sirloin Grade 1 and 1+ are sold at a 50% discounted price of 5,890 KRW and 6,790 KRW per 100g, respectively, and tenderloin Grade 1 and 1+ are sold at a 40% discounted price of 10,128 KRW and 10,728 KRW, respectively. Also, striploin 1+ grade is 10,128 KRW, grade 1 is 9,528 KRW, stew meat and bulgogi 1+ grade is 3,828 KRW, and grade 1 is 3,528 KRW per 100g.


Emart explained that these prices are the lowest Hanwoo prices this year and are even cheaper than wholesale prices.


As of the 25th, the wholesale price of Grade 1 sirloin according to the Livestock Products Quality Evaluation Service is 72,353 KRW per 1kg, which converts to about 7,235 KRW per 100g.


Emart Hanwoo buyer No Seung-min said, "To allow many customers to enjoy Hanwoo, we have prepared 180 tons of Hanwoo, which is two months' usual sales volume, at the lowest price this year."
