Addition of Walking Trails and Installation of Rest Areas and Parks Establish 'Yeoksekwon as a Premier Transit-Oriented Park'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 26th, Jinju Mayor Cho Gyu-il visited the site of ‘Hope Park’ within the Sinjinju Station area in Gajwa-dong, Jinju City, to inspect the progress of the project.
Hope Park is a mountainous park located at the center of Jinju’s station area, well known as ‘Mudeumsan.’ Compared to general hiking trails, it has a lower altitude and shorter walking paths, and its accessibility is good, making it a popular spot for residents to exercise and take walks.
Recently, as the population influx into the Sinjinju Station area has increased, Jinju City recognized the need to add more park facilities such as walking trails. Accordingly, with a project budget of 500 million KRW, the city has been carrying out a park maintenance project targeting certain areas excluding the preserved circular zone.
Mayor Cho Gyu-il of Jinju said, “I hope that citizens exhausted from COVID-19 will use the Mudeumsan forest in Hope Park as a healing space to take walks, allowing them to train their bodies and recharge amid their busy daily lives.” He added, “We will continue to maintain parks throughout Jinju City to create resting spaces where people can soothe their weary minds and bodies.”
