[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 26th that it held the '2021 Gyeongbuk Sale Festa Online Sales Channel Support Product Evaluation Meeting' for local small and medium-sized merchants wishing to join Coupang Rocket Delivery, in collaboration with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Economic Promotion Agency. This evaluation meeting, held in Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is the fourth online sales channel support product evaluation meeting for small and medium-sized merchants this year, following events in Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do in March, Gimcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do in June, and Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do in July.
This event was organized to help expand the online sales channels of small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises located in the northern region of Gyeongsangbuk-do. About 30 small and medium-sized enterprises based in Gyeongsangbuk-do participated in the evaluation meeting, showcasing excellent local products and exchanging sales know-how.
At the product evaluation meeting, Coupang guided participants on how to join Rocket Delivery through direct purchase. Category-specific brand managers currently working at Coupang attended the meeting and provided on-site consulting on various sales know-how, including joining the platform, product marketing, and promotion. Companies that join Coupang through this product evaluation meeting can also participate in the 'Cheer Up Korea, Gyeongbuk Sale Festa Special Exhibition,' which Coupang is conducting together with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Economic Promotion Agency.
Coupang plans to actively carry out win-win activities for local small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises to revitalize the stagnant local economy. Executive Director Jang Young-cheol of Coupang said, "This evaluation meeting will be an opportunity for small and medium-sized merchants struggling due to the economic downturn to share practical online sales know-how and meet more consumers," adding, "We will spare no support to help small and medium-sized merchants who have joined Coupang expand their sales channels and continue their growth and challenges."
