Drone Video/Photo Contest Entries Accepted Until December 10
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 26th that it will hold the ‘2021 Gwangyang Drone Ontact Festival’ as a non-face-to-face event through an online platform until December 31.
The festival will feature a variety of programs including an online drone exhibition using VR·AR technology, a cyber tour of Gwangyang’s representative tourist sites, a drone video exhibition, and a drone photo exhibition, and will present a swarm art show of 50 drones both offline and online.
Ontact is a concept combining ‘Untact,’ meaning non-face-to-face, and ‘On,’ meaning connection with the outside through online.
This event was planned to establish a non-face-to-face event base using VR·AR technology in a situation where activities are restricted due to the prolonged social distancing caused by COVID-19, to alleviate citizens’ COVID blues, and to promote drone utilization through a contest.
Video/photo contest entries will be accepted until December 10, and awards including Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Merit Award will be selected through online platform posting and citizen voting, with cultural gift certificates awarded.
In addition, 400 people will be randomly selected from those who post authentication photos of platform access and citizen voters of the video/photo contest to receive a small prize.
The tourist site cyber tour and drone exhibition will open through the online platform in November, and the drone swarm art show will be conducted privately to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and then posted on the online platform.
Jo Sun-mi, Director of Strategic Policy Office, said, “Gwangyang City is promoting various projects to foster the drone industry, one of the government’s 20 core new industries in five major fields.”
She added, “Through the Drone Ontact Festival, the city will present the first case reflecting new technology and culture.”
