[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that Minister Lim Hye-sook will visit the Gwacheon KT Network Control Center, which manages KT's network, around 4 p.m. on the 26th.
Minister Lim plans to inspect the accident analysis team's investigation activities and urge KT to prepare follow-up measures.
Earlier that morning, Vice Minister Cho Kyung-sik held an online video conference to review the investigation status of the cause of the KT wired and wireless internet service disruption and to discuss follow-up measures.
Experts from KT, Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), National Information Society Agency (NIA), and Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) attended the meeting. They focused on thoroughly inspecting KT's disruption occurrence details, response measures, log record analysis, and network configuration status.
During the meeting, Vice Minister Cho urged a thorough investigation of the accident's cause. He also instructed KT to establish measures to prevent recurrence, set up a reception desk for damage reports to investigate user harm, and review compensation plans.
