The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 26th that they will establish a water and marine complex filming site inside Studio Cube in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. Studio Cube is a public production facility that houses the largest filming studios in Korea. It operates four medium-to-large studios, a special effects studio equipped with chroma key screens on all four walls, and an art center for set construction. With the addition of the water and marine complex filming site, the utilization of the facility by the broadcasting and film video content production industry is expected to increase.

A budget of 7.8 billion KRW will be invested in the water and marine complex filming site. It will be built on a land area of 6,731㎡ with a total floor area of 1,610㎡ (two stories above ground) and is scheduled for completion in December next year. Kang Ji-eun, Director of the Broadcasting, Video and Advertising Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Media Policy Bureau, explained, "A large indoor water tank (length 30.4m × width 20.9m × depth 1.2m) will be installed in the center, enabling special filming such as naval battles like those in the movie 'Myeongryang,' artificial rain and wave generation, and ship accidents."

Studio Cube has long established itself as a cradle of K-content. The globally successful Netflix series "Squid Game" was also filmed here. Sets such as the maze corridor that participants pass through to reach the game arena, and those used for tug-of-war, dalgona, marbles, and stepping stone games were completed here. Lee Ha-young, Public Relations Officer at the Korea Creative Content Agency, explained, "Dramas such as 'Mr. Sunshine,' 'Sweet Home,' the second season of 'Kingdom,' and 'Jirisan' also passed through Studio Cube." Hwang Seong-woon, Director of the Media Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "As production demand is expected to increase based on the competitiveness of Hallyu content, we will continue to expand production infrastructure."
