According to Bloomberg News and Xinhua News Agency, Secretary Yellen and Vice Premier Liu discussed the macroeconomic situation and multilateral and bilateral cooperation during the call.

Xinhua reported that both sides had practical, candid, and constructive conversations, agreeing that as the global economic recovery is at a critical juncture, it is very important for the two countries to communicate and cooperate in the field of macroeconomic policy.

The Chinese side conveyed its demands during the call, including the removal of the U.S.'s high tariffs on China and sanctions against Chinese companies.

Secretary Janet Yellen and Vice Premier Liu He previously held their first video call since the Biden administration took office on June 2.
