At the 6th Asia Gender Equality Index Awards Ceremony, Hyosung received the Minister of Employment and Labor Award, earning high praise in areas such as fostering female managers, gender-equal recruitment, and promoting flexible work arrangements.
Hyosung has consistently selected and promoted female talents serving as managers within the group, including female executives and team leaders. During the recruitment process for new graduates, separate recruitment briefings and consultations were held primarily at women's universities to secure outstanding female talent. The proportion of female interviewers was increased during recruitment interviews, and pre-interviewer training was conducted to ensure gender-equal hiring practices. Since last year, the company has shifted from employing female administrative assistants as dispatched workers to directly hiring them.
To support employees in balancing work and family life, systems for reduced working hours during pregnancy and childcare periods are in operation. With the establishment of staggered working hours and telecommuting systems, which began due to the impact of COVID-19, many employees are utilizing these programs. Since 2015, in-house daycare centers have been operated in three locations: Mapo in Seoul, Changwon, and Ulsan.
Hyosung places talents appropriately based on ability and performance and does not differentiate in salary or welfare benefits. Instead of setting quotas for the proportion of female promotions, the company operates a system where employees are evaluated and guaranteed promotion based on the same standards regardless of gender.
Hyosung runs programs such as sports competitions, factory visit days, and family camps at each workplace that families can participate in, receiving positive responses from employees and their families. Beyond the company, it continues external activities such as providing funds to promote employment for women in vulnerable groups.
