[Asia Economy] The Korea Photojournalists Association (President An Ju-hyung) selected Kang Jin-hyung, a photographer from the Asia Economy photo department, as the winner of the Excellence Award in the News category for the 225th Monthly Press Photo Awards on the 26th.
Kang’s award-winning photo, titled "Fist of Anger Toward the Murderer" (large photo), captured a citizen expressing outrage as Kang Yoon-sung, suspected of damaging an electronic tracking device (electronic anklet) and murdering two women in September, was being transferred from the Songpa Police Station in Seoul to the prosecution.
The Korea Photojournalists Association selects outstanding photos with high news and artistic value each month from among works covered by about 500 photojournalists from nationwide newspapers, news agencies, and internet media, awarding the Monthly Press Photo Awards.
