Proving the Stability of Information Security Management Systems Including Homepage and IT Systems
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics Service announced on the 26th that it has obtained the 'Information Security Management System (ISMS),' the highest national official information security certification in Korea.
The ISMS certification is a system certified by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) under the Ministry of Science and ICT, which comprehensively evaluates a company's technical and physical information security management system.
To obtain the certification, companies must pass conformity evaluations for a total of 80 certification criteria, including 16 for establishing and operating information security management systems and 64 for information security measures. Even after obtaining the certification, annual follow-up audits determine whether the certification is maintained.
This certification acquisition means that the information security management system is being stably operated across all service areas such as the website and IT systems, and the company explained that customers can use Samsung Electronics product management services with peace of mind without worrying about personal information breaches.
Park Seong-geun, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Samsung Electronics Service, said, "Obtaining the ISMS certification has further enhanced customer trust," adding, "We will continue to strive to be recognized by customers through the best service."
