[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] A man in his 20s has been arrested on charges of attempting to sexually assault a teenage female student in an apartment underground parking lot and assaulting a woman who witnessed the incident.
According to the court on the 25th, Judge Lee Sechang, who is in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, conducted a pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant review) for Mr. A (22), who is accused of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse (including rape and injury), and issued an arrest warrant citing "risk of flight."
Mr. A is accused of attempting to sexually assault Ms. B around 10:30 p.m. on the 23rd in the underground parking lot of an apartment in Gwanak-gu, Seoul. He is also accused of assaulting a woman in her 40s who witnessed the incident and shouted for help before fleeing the scene.
Mr. A was arrested at the scene. The victims sustained injuries to their faces and heads and were taken to the hospital, but their lives are not in danger.
