981 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Nationwide by 6 PM

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] On the 25th, amid the ongoing 4th wave of COVID-19, the total number of new confirmed cases from midnight to 6 p.m. was recorded at 981. This is 24 more than the same time the previous day (957 cases).

Specifically, 748 cases (76.2%) were reported in the Seoul metropolitan area, and 233 cases (23.8%) in non-metropolitan areas. By city and province, there were 363 in Seoul, 322 in Gyeonggi, 63 in Incheon, 60 in Daegu, 33 in Busan, 27 in Chungbuk, 26 in Chungnam, 20 in Gyeongbuk, 19 in Gangwon, 18 in Gyeongnam, 13 in Jeonbuk, 6 in Jeju, 5 in Gwangju, 3 in Daejeon, 2 in Ulsan, and 1 in Jeonnam.

Since there is still time left until midnight, the number of new confirmed cases announced at 0:00 on the 26th is expected to increase further, reaching the 1,200 range. On the previous day, 233 cases were added after 6 p.m., resulting in a final total of 1,190 cases.

The 4th wave of COVID-19 has continued for over three months. The daily confirmed cases have remained in the four-digit range for 111 consecutive days since July 7 (1,211 cases).

Regarding major infection cases, at a clothing company in Jori-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi, after one employee tested positive on the 20th, a total of 22 employees have been confirmed positive as of this day.

The cumulative confirmed cases related to a performance hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul, have increased to 15. After a performance hall worker tested positive on the 19th, another worker, 8 elementary school students from Seocho-gu who watched the performance, and 5 family members of the students were subsequently confirmed positive, totaling 14 additional cases.
