On the 25th, the county held a 3rd quarter progress report meeting on the 7th local government administration's pledged projects on the 21st, reviewing the status of key priority projects and future plans.
With the inauguration of County Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan, the 7th local government administration established the vision "Shining Land’s End, Haenam Running Again," confirming 65 pledges across 5 major strategies, and has been thoroughly checking and analyzing quarterly progress to achieve the pledge goals.
As of the 3rd quarter of 2021, 52 projects have been completed, and 13 projects are progressing normally, showing an implementation rate close to 97%, demonstrating outstanding progress.
Especially in the 4th year of the 7th local government administration, major projects such as the opening of Haenam Cinema and the Youth Nurim Culture Center, establishment of Haenam Culture and Tourism Foundation, opening of Uldolmok Skywalk and Marine Cable Car, and construction of a local food direct sales store have been completed, accelerating the pace even further.
The county plans to continuously manage completed projects to enhance their completeness, while frequently inspecting ongoing projects with the goal of completing them within the year.
Haenam-gun has been recognized as the best local government in pledge implementation nationwide, having been selected for the highest grade (SA) for three consecutive years in the pledge implementation evaluation conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, and receiving the grand prize and excellence award in two indicators at the 2021 pledge implementation best practice presentation.
Additionally, the county increases public consensus by openly sharing the progress of pledge implementation so that residents can easily understand it, and enhances objectivity and fairness in pledge execution through the operation of a citizen evaluation group directly participating in the pledge implementation.
Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan stated, “Despite the difficulties posed by COVID-19, we have not given up and have sought possible methods to accelerate progress to fully fulfill our promises to residents at the launch of the 7th local government administration. This has resulted in a nationwide top-level pledge implementation rate.” He added, “We will do our best to ensure that residents can tangibly feel the achievements of the county administration through the successful completion of key projects and continuous management.”
