[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Professor Ahn Hyo-sung of Chonnam National University has been selected as a promising young scientist by the Polymer Division (PMSE) of the American Chemical Society.
According to Chonnam National University on the 25th, the "Young Scientist of the Year" (2021 ACS PMSE Future Faculty Scholar) is carefully chosen among outstanding young researchers in the field of polymer materials research. Awardees are granted the special privilege of being invited to a symposium held alongside the American Chemical Society Spring Meeting at the San Diego Convention Center in the United States next March.
Professor Ahn Hyo-sung is developing a platform that visualizes nanoscale structural data, which could not be identified by existing analytical techniques, by integrating polymer-based composite redevelopment, transmission electron microscopy electron tomography technology, and machine learning technology, and quantitatively analyzes three-dimensional structures.
Based on this, he is developing new materials used in energy and sensors, and is conducting research on microplastics, which have recently become an environmental issue, to study sustainable polymer materials.
During this research process, Professor Ahn Hyo-sung has published 24 international research papers in prestigious journals such as Science Advances.
