Chosun University Hospital Recognized as a 'Hospital Excelling in Tuberculosis Treatment'

Selected as the Best Hospital in the National Tuberculosis Management Evaluation Competition

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University Hospital (Director Jeong Jonghoon) has been recognized as a ‘Hospital Excelling in Tuberculosis Treatment.’

Chosun University Hospital announced on the 25th that it was selected as the Best Hospital at the ‘2021 Private-Public Cooperation National Tuberculosis Control Project Evaluation Conference’ held at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on the 22nd.

Chosun University Hospital was recognized again after three years, following its consecutive selection as an excellent hospital in 2017 and 2018.

Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by the tuberculosis bacteria, requiring thorough patient management through contact investigations of tuberculosis patients and their cohabiting family members.

Accordingly, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency is implementing the ‘Private-Public Cooperation Tuberculosis Control Project’ to improve treatment rates by managing tuberculosis patients through cooperation between private medical institutions and the government.

The evaluation conference, hosted by the Korean Academy of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, was attended by over 180 medical institutions nationwide.

Chosun University Hospital received the highest award by achieving high scores in tuberculosis management indicators such as contact examination rate, number of new patient reports, and number of new drug applications.

Professor Yoon Seongho of the Department of Respiratory Medicine stated, “As the best hospital representing the region, we will take the lead in improving tuberculosis management and treatment rates by providing the best medical services.”

Meanwhile, Chosun University Hospital, led by Professor Yoon Seongho of the Department of Respiratory Medicine, along with Professors Lee Seungil, Na Yongseop, Moon Dosik, and dedicated tuberculosis management nurses, is doing its utmost in tuberculosis patient management, treatment, and health education.
