Musk: "Full Self-Driving SW Beta Version Error"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] The American electric vehicle company Tesla recently rolled back to a previous version after encountering errors in its fully autonomous driving software (SW) beta version, the Washington Post (WP) reported on the 24th (Korean time).

According to the report, Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, wrote on Twitter the day before, "We encountered some issues with the Full Self-Driving version 10.3, so we have temporarily rolled back to version 10.2."

The reported error is said to display a message indicating that Autopilot does not activate when the Full Self-Driving 10.3 beta version is enabled.

CEO Musk explained, "Internally, we found that the 10.3 beta version attempts to make a left turn at traffic light intersections but then reverses," adding, "We are collecting condition and variable data to improve the error."

He continued, "This rollback is something that can happen anytime with beta software intended for testing," and added, "It is impossible to conduct all tests during the internal quality assurance process."

The Full Self-Driving 10.3 version was distributed to 2,000 people using the Full Self-Driving beta version. Currently, Tesla is only distributing the Full Self-Driving beta version to drivers in North America who have a high 'Safety Score' (ranging from 0 to 100 points).
