Ministry of Science and ICT Hosts 'Metaverse Alliance Open Conference'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 25th that it will hold the "Metaverse Alliance Open Conference (hereinafter referred to as the Conference)" online for three days starting from the 26th.

This event was organized to accelerate communication and collaboration among participating companies of the "Metaverse Alliance (hereinafter Alliance)," launched last May, and to share trends and prospects of the metaverse industry.

On the first day of the event, Jihoon Jung, Chief Vision Officer of Modu Research Lab, and Josh Anan, leader of Roblox, will give presentations on the themes "Metaverse and Future Industry" and "Avatar-led Metaverse," respectively. Following this, a mid-term presentation session on business planning by project groups autonomously formed by participating companies within the Alliance (24 companies presenting out of a total of 80) will be held to share progress and explore development directions. On the second and third days, the "Alliance Forum" will be conducted, where participating companies will introduce their services and content and share new technology trends in the metaverse industry.

Additionally, during the event period, a "Virtual Exhibition" for Alliance participating companies will be held as a side event, designed to enable companies to promote more efficiently and attractively than in reality, supporting practical marketing and connecting to investment opportunities.

Kim Jeongsam, Director of Software Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "Through this conference, the Alliance will serve as a focal point for private cooperation, contributing to accelerating the expansion of the metaverse industry's base," and added, "We will spare no effort in follow-up support to ensure that projects discovered within the Alliance are actively reflected in government policies and can settle into the metaverse ecosystem."
