[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Monday the 25th, dense fog is expected in many inland areas, so caution is advised for traffic safety during the morning commute.
The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that until 10 a.m. on this day, visibility will be less than 200 meters in eastern Gyeonggi, inland Gangwon, inland Chungcheong, and inland Gyeongbuk, and less than 1 km in inland Jeolla and inland Gyeongnam due to fog.
As of 7 a.m., visibility at major locations is ▲Icheon 70m ▲Cheonan 80m ▲Jincheon 90m ▲Buyeo 100m ▲Daegok (Jinju) 100m ▲Gurye 130m ▲Yongin 140m.
A low visibility warning has been issued at Cheongju Airport. Passengers using airports located inland should check flight information in advance.
The Korea Meteorological Administration urged, "Fog becomes denser on bridges and roads near rivers, lakes, and valleys, so when driving, maintain sufficient distance between vehicles and reduce speed."
On this day, the temperature difference in inland areas will be very large, around 15 degrees Celsius. As of 7 a.m., temperatures are Seoul 6.4°C, Incheon 9.2°C, Gangneung 9.3°C, Suwon 5.0°C, Cheongju 6.6°C, Daejeon 5.5°C, Daegu 7.3°C, Gwangju 8.1°C, and Busan 12.5°C. On the 25th, fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' to 'Moderate' across all regions. However, in Sejong and Chungbuk·Chungnam, due to stagnant air, fine dust generated domestically will accumulate and temporarily rise to 'Unhealthy' levels in the morning.
