[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Honam University (President Park Sang-chul) announced on the 24th that it held the 2nd Faculty Competency Enhancement Workshop on the 22nd to promote competency-based teaching methods to prepare for the era of artificial intelligence.
The workshop was planned with the purpose of preparing instructors in advance to implement artificial intelligence education starting from the first semester of 2022. On-site, Dean of Academic Affairs Son Hong-min attended and presented a vision for the demonstration plan of AI education. More than 50 instructors participated via Zoom, engaging in lively Q&A and discussions to consider solutions to problems in the educational field.
The Honam University AI Big Data Research Institute (Director Baek Ran), which hosted the workshop, stated, “For AI education innovation, it is essential to accurately understand and prepare for the learner’s competency development goals. Through the workshop, we were able to set goals up to educational outcomes, enabling immediate application in the educational field.”
The 3rd workshop is scheduled for the 29th, where Professor Julian Jwao from St. Mary’s University in the United States will share, via Zoom, educational models already implemented in the U.S. educational field.
