Kim Jong-min: "Cutoffs exist to filter out unqualified people like Yoon... He should quit"

"Leaving aside the pros and cons for the Democratic Party, Korean politics and the national dignity of the Republic of Korea are a mess"

Kim Jong-min: "Cutoffs exist to filter out unqualified people like Yoon... He should quit" On September 9th, at the National Assembly's 5th meeting hall, Kim Jong-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, is delivering a greeting at the bipartisan consultative meeting on the amendment of the Act on the Mediation and Relief of Damage Caused by the Press (Press Arbitration Act).

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim So-young] Kim Jong-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, raised his voice against Yoon Seok-yeol, a preliminary candidate for the People Power Party's presidential primary, who became controversial for his 'Jeon Du-hwan remarks,' saying "He should quit being a presidential candidate."

On the 22nd, Kim posted on his Facebook, criticizing, "Yoon Seok-yeol is not qualified even to be a candidate, let alone the president."

He condemned, "Following the unprecedented outrageous remarks such as 'Jeon Du-hwan did politics well, and national leaders should not hesitate to use any means,' when asked to apologize to the people, he mocked the public with a photo giving an apology to a dog."

He continued, "I wonder if there has ever been such a pathetic level among presidential candidates in history. The cut-off system exists to filter out such unqualified candidates."

He added, "Some in the Democratic Party expect Yoon Seok-yeol to be an easy opponent. But now it's time to give up," expressing concern that "Regardless of the Democratic Party's interests, the state of Korean politics and the national dignity of the Republic of Korea is unacceptable."

Kim said, "The People Power Party expects Yoon Seok-yeol because they dislike the Moon Jae-in administration, but if they put forward such an unqualified candidate, the People Power Party will also suffer," and stated, "Lee Jun-seok, the party leader, is also troubled, but this is not something to just end quietly. He must clarify his position on the absurd dog apology show and take firm disciplinary action. Regardless of party interests, Yoon Seok-yeol's cut-off is inevitable."
