Possibility of Crime Due to Personnel Dissatisfaction in the 'Saengsubyung Incident'... Police Confirming Facts

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Regarding the incident in which two employees lost consciousness after drinking water from a bottled water bottle at a company office in Seocho-gu, Seoul, the police are investigating with the possibility that the crime was committed due to dissatisfaction with personnel matters.

On the 23rd, according to the police, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul has secured a colleague's statement that employee A, who was booked on charges of special injury, may have harbored dissatisfaction upon learning of the possibility of being transferred to a provincial post, and is verifying the facts.

However, the police stated that they cannot confirm the motive based on a few statements and are keeping all possibilities open while conducting a multifaceted investigation. In addition, they said that if the type of toxic substance used in the crime and the motive are further confirmed by examining the circumstances of the crime, they may change the charges applied to A.

Earlier, on the 18th, two male and female employees collapsed after drinking water from a bottled water bottle placed on a desk at a company office in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu. The female employee regained consciousness, but the male employee is still reported to be in critical condition.

At this company, on the 10th, another incident occurred where A and another employee who had previously lived together in company housing collapsed after drinking a beverage.

The police suspect that both incidents were committed by A.

A was found dead at his home in Gwanak-gu on the 19th, the day after the second incident, after being absent without leave and having ingested poison. There were traces of fingerprint analysis at the house, and it is known that several poisons and traces of searching for specific poison-related papers on his mobile phone were also found.
