Hongje 1-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee ▲ Hongildong Art Troupe ▲ The+Neighbor Day ▲ Our Neighborhood School ▲ Differentiated Humanities, etc. 추진
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced that the Hongje 1-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee is promoting various self-initiated projects such as the Hongildong Art Troupe, The+Neighbor Day, Our Neighborhood School, and Differentiated Humanities.
The 'Residents' Autonomy Committee Implementation Projects' were directly discovered by residents and selected through a residents' general meeting in 2019-2020, and are being implemented for the first time this year.
The Hongje 1-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee and the Dong Community Service Center established a public-private cooperation system from mid-August this year and formed TF teams for each implementation project to ensure successful project execution.
In addition, they conducted in-house training so that the committee members could carry out all processes from drafting detailed implementation plans to budget usage.
Especially, to smoothly promote the projects even during social distancing, they utilized online platforms (Zoom, Naver Band, etc.) to hold preparatory meetings and promote programs.
Currently, the 'Hongildong Art Troupe,' with about 10 residents of Hongje 1-dong participating, is rehearsing the omnibus play 'Good Doctor' aiming for a performance at the end of this year.
'The+Neighbor Day' has been held three times from last month to next month, providing self-development education and employment guidance for marriage immigrants.
'Our Neighborhood School' offers healing time to residents through eight programs this month, including soap craft, aroma craft, ceramic craft, and a 'mind vaccine' with picture books.
'Differentiated Humanities' consists of lectures such as ▲ Oh Ji-hye's Life Talk 'say lt' (10/29) ▲ Joy Han's 'Unconstitutional Art Museum' (10/30) ▲ Ko Mi-sook's 'Life Vision After COVID-19' (11/23) ▲ Mutto Katsukiyo's 'Koreans I Want to See, Japanese I Want to Meet' (11/26). Currently, they are recruiting 30 residents per lecture.
The+Neighbor Day, Our Neighborhood School, and Differentiated Humanities are held via the online video conferencing program (Zoom). This Residents' Autonomy Committee implementation project is funded by the citizen participation budget at the dong level and the individual equalization portion of the resident tax, allowing all residents to participate free of charge.
Choi Soo-kyung, chairperson of the Hongje 1-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, "We will work hard to make our village a joyful and exciting place to live," and asked for "much interest and participation from residents in the implementation projects."
