[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The project is about ‘warm organizing’!
The project named ‘Warm Organizing’ was jointly planned and operated by Dongseo University LINC+ Project Group, Sasang-gu District Office, Sasang-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center, and the Korea Space Consulting Association.
Regional design companies such as Visual Tech and Theme Planning also participated in this project, which won the Encouragement Award at the ‘2021 Local Government Foreign Resident Support Best Practice Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 19th, representing Sasang-gu, Busan. The project secured a budget of 30 million KRW.
The ‘Warm Organizing’ project began in 2020 as a community contribution program.
In 2021, it was linked with the Living Lab programs of the Design & Marketing Corporate Collaboration Center and the Regional Collaboration Center.
This is a regional win-win program that trains organizing and storage experts through re-education of local women, connects them to employment, improves the housing environment for vulnerable groups, and explores new business items and opportunities for local design companies.
In December last year, one vulnerable household in Sasang-gu was selected, and a homestaging plan was established with local company practitioners.
Together with multicultural marriage immigrant residents who completed the basic course of organizing and storage masters, they engaged in improving the housing environment.
This year, the certification course was further expanded, and with 13 multicultural marriage immigrants who obtained certificates and volunteers, the housing environment improvement work was completed for the 2nd and 3rd vulnerable households.
Dongseo University is leading multicultural marriage immigrants and women with career interruptions to obtain professional certifications through re-education via public-private-industry-academia cooperation.
They provide practical support by establishing a foundation for their reemployment and improving the housing environment of vulnerable groups in need.
Cho Dae-su, head of Dongseo University LINC+ Project Group, said, “We plan to develop the Warm Organizing project into a brand and proceed with it as a lifelong education program for expert training and employment connection,” adding, “We will empathize with and solve neighbors’ difficulties through collaboration with local companies.”
