[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Ahn Min-seok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, directed a statement at lawyer Nam Wook (owner of Cheonhwa Dongin No. 4), a key figure in the 'Daejang-dong preferential development' scandal, saying, "Sincerely apologize to me and those suffering unjustly as we are being wrongfully accused as corrupt politicians because of you, and reveal the truth."

On the morning of the 23rd, Ahn posted on his Facebook, "Apologize to your brother-in-law, who is also my secretary, who is suffering because of the immoral acts committed by your brother-in-law. And you must publicly clarify the situation regarding me, who suddenly became embroiled in controversy like a goblin's prank," he demanded.

He began by saying, "I am Ahn Min-seok, the National Assembly member of Osan City, where your in-laws reside. To me, you are a complete stranger whom I have never met. I only learned of your existence through the Daejang-dong incident and confirmed that my secretary is your brother-in-law. What a world we live in," he said.

He continued, "Your brother-in-law is a sincere and kind person. He is a polite and reliable secretary and a young man with a healthy dream of making a better world," emphasizing, "It is unjust for him to be criticized simply because he is Nam Wook's brother-in-law."

He added, "Some around me advise that I should have my secretary quit to relieve the burden, but I will not engage in politics that violate ethics," drawing a clear line.

Ahn said, "Just because your brother-in-law is my secretary, I am being accused by the People Power Party of corruption related to the Osan Unamdeul development," mentioning, "The media and some local residents are slandering without any basis."

Namwook, a lawyer under prosecution investigation related to the Seongnam Daejang-dong development lobbying and preferential treatment allegations case, was re-summoned to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 22nd and is heading to the interrogation room.

He went on, "If there is corruption, the ones who took the money are elsewhere. I, who have been vigilant and critical of the preferential treatment and corruption in the Unamdeul development process, cannot tolerate being suspiciously linked to you, a complete stranger," and sharply criticized, "The People Power Party in Osan, which condoned the Unamdeul preferential corruption and supported the development, should reflect on themselves."

He also pointed out, "The People Power Party is even writing absurd fiction connecting 'Nam Wook-Ahn Min-seok-Lee Jae-myung,' and Kim Byung-min, spokesperson for candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, is making a low-level, nonsensical rant on broadcasts without any causal relationship," adding, "Ultimately, I believe there is malice aimed at tarnishing candidate Lee Jae-myung."

Furthermore, he said, "The fact that Nam Wook's brother-in-law is my secretary is fate. From now on, I will join the Daejang-dong battle and open Pandora's box of power-driven construction corruption. You will know who the VIP of the Daejang-dong Squid Game is," pressuring, "Who is the real entity? I hope you clearly state the truth that the Daejang-dong VIP is not candidate Lee Jae-myung."
