Ministry of SMEs and Startups Hosts 'K-Artificial Intelligence Manufacturing Data Analysis Competition'


[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 24th that it will hold the 'K-Artificial Intelligence (AI) Manufacturing Data Analysis Competition.' The competition period is from the 25th to December 16.


The K-AI Manufacturing Data Analysis Competition is a contest to compete in development skills using KAMP (AI Small and Medium Venture Manufacturing Platform) data. The task for this competition is AI development that can solve problems in small and medium manufacturing sites using the KAMP dataset. The Ministry plans to introduce the developed AI into KAMP to support SMEs in utilizing it.


Previously, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups established KAMP in December last year to support data and AI utilization for small and medium manufacturing companies. In December last year, 12 types of datasets optimized for AI learning according to manufacturing equipment and processes were built and released on the KAMP portal. The current cumulative number of downloads is about 10,800.


Specific tasks related to the competition will be announced on the 15th of next month. Participants must develop and submit AI analysis models according to the tasks by the 26th of next month. The Ministry will select eight teams through document evaluation and presentation evaluation and determine the rankings. On December 16, an awards ceremony will be held according to the final rankings.


The Ministry will award the grand prize-winning team with the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award and a prize of 10 million won. In addition, those who participate in NHN employment through KAMP construction will be exempt from document screening and coding tests. The remaining seven teams will receive the Excellence Award, Outstanding Award, and Encouragement Award. A total prize of 19 million won will be distributed differentially according to the rank.


This competition is open to all Korean citizens aged 19 or older. Applications can be submitted online through the KAMP portal until the 9th of next month.
