[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Andong City opened the 'Andong Finding Collaboration Center,' a communication and cooperation space between the public and private sectors, on the 22nd.
The Andong Finding Collaboration Center was promoted after being selected in 2019 for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's community revitalization foundation project. It is a project to create a shared space where residents can participate by transforming underutilized public idle facilities into a community space, thereby establishing a foundation for local community revitalization.
The collaboration center, newly built on the Talchum Park site with a total floor area of 374㎡ and two above-ground floors, is planned to be used as a tourism community space led by the Andong City Tourism Council. The center's name was decided through a contest as 'Yeogi,' meaning 'the starting point of Andong travel.'
The first floor of the center functions as a communication and sharing platform related to tourism and serves as a resting place, open cafe, and meeting space for tourists and citizens visiting Talchum Park.
The second floor houses the offices of the Andong City Tourism Council and the Tourism Research Support Center, playing a role in local public-private cooperation tourism governance.
Mayor Kwon Young-se said, “The tourism community center ‘Yeogi,’ true to its name as the starting point of Andong travel, will not only provide tourism information and a resting place for tourists but also serve as a space where tourism businesses, organizations, and citizens can communicate, connect, and collaborate, becoming the true center of tourism governance.”
