WISET Jeonnam Region Mokpo National University Project Group Holds Student Lecture on Gender Innovation Awareness Improvement

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The WISET Jeonnam Region Mokpo National University Project Group (Director Lee Jae-bin) at Mokpo National University (President Park Min-seo) announced on the 22nd that it conducted an online special lecture on gender innovation awareness improvement for students of the College of Engineering at Mokpo National University on the 21st.

This special lecture invited Senior Researcher Ji Hee-jung from the Jeonnam Women and Family Foundation to deliver a lecture on the theme of "Improving Gender Sensitivity of University Students."

The session provided an opportunity to understand the importance of gender equality perspectives in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and to learn about gender stereotypes and discrimination present in daily life.

Lecturer Ji Hee-jung explained the sense of community between men and women and gender sensitivity, stating, "We must adopt an attitude that pursues development as an equal community through mutual respect and cooperation with community members."

Additionally, the lecturer asked the attending students for their opinions on gender equality and held discussions, presenting alternatives to solve problems based on related cases.

A student who participated in the special lecture commented, "Through this lecture, I was able to easily understand gender sensitivity, and it made me more interested in the topic."

The special lecture was conducted online via Zoom, with about 30 students participating, showing successful engagement.
