[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Conflicting claims have arisen regarding the article titled "Why is someone chasing our dog with a shovel? Absurd pet dog attack incident in Changnyeong," which was reported through our online edition on the 20th.

On the 19th, a video was released on social media showing a man holding a shovel chasing A, the informant's pet dog, causing it to flee in panic.

In the post, A appealed, "I don't know what to do with a person who threatens to kill our dog," and uploaded a video along with the statement that their pet dog, Gaeul, almost died.

A expressed disbelief, saying, "My child was in our yard with me, how can this be possible?" which angered readers.

He added, "I tried to confirm the identity of the man through the neighborhood elders, but I was told he does not seem to be from the same neighborhood."

A's side stated, "Our pet dog never went outside the street, and the man holding the shovel trespassed on our property and unilaterally threatened the dog."

Regarding this incident, B, the wife of the middle-aged man seen in the video chasing the dog with a shovel, shared a different claim with our paper.

B said, "My husband was riding a bicycle with a shovel in hand as usual, going to do farm work, when A's dog barked, so he chased it with the shovel."

She added, "It's fine to keep dogs in the yard, but my husband was startled by the barking dog and ran in."

B explained, "We are a couple living about 300 meters away from the cafe where the incident occurred," and said, "We have only lived here for about a year and a half, so it seems the neighbors do not know us well," hoping the misunderstanding would be resolved.
