Daedong Hospital received a plaque of appreciation from Dongnae-gu for operating support of the COVID-19 vaccination center.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Daedong Hospital received a plaque of appreciation from Dongnae-gu, Busan, on the 22nd for supporting the operation of the COVID-19 vaccination center.
Dongnae-gu announced that at 9:30 a.m. on the same day, it presented the plaque of appreciation in the meeting room on the 3rd floor of Dongnae-gu Office for contributions to promoting residents' health over the past two years since the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak, including operating screening clinics, respiratory specialized centers, and COVID-19 vaccination centers.
Kim Woo-ryong, head of Dongnae-gu Office, said, “We are grateful to the medical staff and all employees of Daedong Hospital who have worked hard on COVID-19 prevention for the health of local residents from the early days of COVID-19 until now,” adding, “We will actively support and cooperate with Daedong Hospital to create a safe and healthy Dongnae-gu.”
Daedong Hospital established a rapid infectious disease response process and operated a screening clinic in an external hospital space when the first domestic COVID-19 infection occurred in February 2020.
Additionally, it took preemptive measures to prevent the paths of suspected COVID-19 patients and general patients from overlapping by closing all entrances except for one main entrance with separated access points.
Amid the surge in local infections due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital remodeled and expanded the respiratory specialized center to minimize the treatment gap for respiratory and fever patients and was designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as a commissioned medical institution for COVID-19 vaccination services.
Recently, Daedong Hospital was designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as a medical institution securing dedicated treatment beds for moderate to severe patients, securing 26 beds in one ward equipped with negative pressure facilities, thereby fulfilling its role as a medical institution responding to the phased recovery of daily life.
Daedong Hospital was selected as an excellent institution in the 2021 Medical-Related Infectious Disease Prevention and Management Project hosted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and received a commendation from the Director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.
