Royal Family "Health Status Good"
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, who is 95 years old this year, was discharged from the hospital just one day after being admitted for treatment. Amid a recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the UK, which has transitioned to a 'With Corona' policy, the Queen's hospitalization was confirmed to be unrelated to COVID-19.
Buckingham Palace stated on the 21st (local time), "The Queen was admitted the previous afternoon for tests following medical advice to rest for a few days and returned to Windsor Castle around lunchtime today."
The Queen's health condition is currently reported to be good. A Buckingham Palace official told foreign media, "The Queen has been working lightly since this afternoon," adding, "This hospitalization was a precautionary measure."
The royal family did not disclose specific details about the tests the Queen underwent. The BBC reported, "The Queen was seen at King Edward VII's Hospital, where her husband, Prince Philip, received treatment before his passing."
The Queen was originally scheduled to attend a church service in Armagh, southern Northern Ireland, for a one-night, two-day event starting the previous day to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Northern Ireland's founding. However, she canceled the schedule following medical advice to rest.
Some speculated that there might be signs of health issues with the Queen. On the 12th, she appeared at an official event using a cane for the first time, which fueled these concerns.
However, a source told CNN, "The Queen's cancellation of official duties is not related to COVID-19." The BBC also stated regarding the Queen's hospitalization, "It is reported to be for a valid reason unrelated to COVID-19."
