[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Sinan County (Governor Park Woo-ryang) will hold the '2021 Sinan Mun Sunduk International Festival (Mun Festa)' for two days from the 23rd to the 24th at the Jaeun-myeon 1004 Museum Park area.
According to the county on the 22nd, since 2010, they have supported the production of a traditional Korean play based on the drifting journey and life of Mun Sunduk, a maritime figure representing the region. Since 2019, the project has expanded into an international festival, promoting a complex cultural and artistic festival every year where people can indirectly experience maritime culture.
This year, the festival will be conducted as a stay-type program featuring camping and cultural-art crossover programs. Visitors can heal their body and mind in the pristine nature of the natural recreation forest where 1004 Museum Park is located and the Yangsan beach, and recharge happiness and joy through cultural and artistic performances, creating a special time.
Experience-type programs include traditional Korean plays, sea forest concerts, marine eco tours, Dia playground, maritime cultural trips, and Pasi Madang (marketplace) events.
The maritime cultural trip introduces Sinan County’s maritime folklore with experts, and the marine eco tour is planned as an experiential program to protect and enjoy nature, including marine litter picking and sea yoga.
The performance program will feature live performances by famous domestic artists such as the Latin band Cubanism, Nori Fly’s Jung Wook-jae TUNE, Kim Bo-kyung & Neon Band, crossover duo Second Moon & Sorikkun O Dan-hae, Gaetdol, and percussion group Samatdi.
Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “Through the Mun Sunduk International Festival, where we can look into the drifting journey and spirit of challenge of the drifter Mun Sunduk, I hope it will be an opportunity to heal the mind and body with Sinan’s beautiful natural environment and culture and arts, and wisely overcome the difficult times caused by COVID-19.”
