[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Pulmuone Foods announced on the 22nd that it has launched the premium frozen dumplings "Thin Skin Fully Stuffed Triangle Dumplings" (Semo Yalpi Mandu) as a follow-up to the "Thin Skin Fully Stuffed Dumplings."
The "Semo Yalpi Mandu" features a thin dumpling skin of 0.7 mm and is filled with a rich main ingredient filling. It achieves a high-end dumpling visual similar to those from specialty stores, and its great advantage is that the rich flavors of the main ingredients can be enjoyed through versatile cooking methods.
"Semo Yalpi Mandu" is a product planned by Pulmuone to offer a new experience to consumers who prefer thin-skinned dumplings. Departing from the trademark teardrop shape of Yalpi Mandu, it has been newly transformed into a triangle shape. The newly released product line consists of three varieties: Juicy Meat, Tangy Shrimp, and Tofu Kimchi. All three reflect the recent trend of carefully considering product ingredients and content, known as "food+spec," and faithfully contain high-spec raw materials.
"Thin Skin Fully Stuffed Triangle Dumplings Juicy Meat" contains 40.72% pork. The "Thin Skin Fully Stuffed Triangle Dumplings Tangy Shrimp" includes whole unminced shrimp. The "Thin Skin Fully Stuffed Triangle Dumplings Tofu Kimchi" is Pulmuone's first plant-forward dumpling. True to Pulmuone's introduction of various plant-forward foods using soy and tofu as materials, tofu was chosen as the main ingredient. The product features stir-fried kimchi made without salted seafood, delivering a savory flavor, and includes tofu so that even those who prefer vegetarian options can enjoy it deliciously.
Since its launch in March 2019, Yalpi Mandu has achieved cumulative sales of 55 million packs in 2 years and 5 months, and cumulative sales revenue surpassed 200 billion KRW in July this year.
