[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Minister of Unification Lee In-young evaluated the North Korea policy of Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, as "a practical approach rather than a pro-North Korea stance."
On the 21st, during the comprehensive audit of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, Minister Lee rebutted the claim by Kim Seok-ki, a member of the People Power Party, that pro-North Korea figures were positioned in Lee Jae-myung's campaign team, stating, "Compared to the traditional progressive perspective on the Korean Peninsula policy, there is quite a bit of pursuit of a more practical line."
Regarding the 'North Korean spy activity allegation' raised by Representative Kim, he responded, "It is unreasonable and nonsensical to take at face value the expression that 50,000 to 60,000 North Korean fixed spies are operating covertly."
