Suicide Prevention Saengmyeonsarang Logojector ? Asia Economy
[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 21st that it has installed logoprojectors engraved with life-loving image phrases to prevent suicide and foster a culture of respect for life.
A logoprojector is a landscape lighting device that uses LEDs to project specific phrases or images onto the floor or walls.
To prevent suicide accidents, which have emerged as a serious social issue, the county installed logoprojectors at a total of five locations, including two docks at Cheonggyebokgil with a high risk of suicide and three other places including the crosswalk in front of Muan Terminal, where residents frequently pass.
The installed logoprojectors display suicide prevention phrases such as ▲ "We are not going in the same direction but with the same heart" ▲ "You are truly a precious person" ▲ "Pat pat, it has been very hard, right? I want to hear your story." They also provide 24-hour suicide prevention counseling phone numbers and mental health crisis hotline information so that any resident in need can receive services at any time.
In addition to the logoprojector project, various initiatives to protect precious lives are being promoted, including suicide prevention education, life guardian training, and emergency room-based suicide attempter management projects.
Governor Kim San said, "Through the life-loving logoprojectors that comfort hearts and convey empathy, we will raise residents' awareness of suicide prevention and operate various programs that remind people of the preciousness of life to create a culture where everyone is respected."
