A Man Wearing a Luxury Watch Flees at a Secondhand Market... Police in Pursuit

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] An incident occurred where a used luxury watch was stolen by a buyer while attempting to sell it.

According to the police on the 21st, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul is tracking a man who approached as if to purchase an expensive wristwatch near the main gate of Hongik University in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, around 5 a.m. the previous day and fled wearing the watch. The watch is known to be worth over 9 million won.

The victim, Mr. A, posted a listing to sell the watch on the used trading platform 'Danggeun Market' around 2:30 a.m. the same day. Later, around 4 a.m., he received a message from someone expressing interest in buying, and met the man near the main gate of Hongdae around 4:50 a.m.

At the request, "Can I try wearing the watch on my wrist?" he handed over the watch, and the man fled wearing it. The police plan to track the suspect's movements through CCTV and other means.
