Starting the Effort to Revive the Ecological Environment
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Damyang Office of Education School Support Center announced on the 21st that it had a serious discussion on how to carry out the 'Damyang Ecological Environment Preservation Campaign' scheduled for November at Damyang Resort on the 20th.
The meeting was held with a total of 51 participants, including student council executives from elementary and middle schools in the district and students from alternative education facilities.
At this meeting, brainwriting, one of the facilitation techniques learned at the Student Autonomous Federation Capacity Building Camp held in September, was applied. Fresh ideas that are rarely seen during student council time emerged, such as making placards for the 'Damyang Ecological Environment Preservation Campaign' using the back side of boxes or posters and using them directly.
Choi Se-eun, president of the Damyang Student Autonomous Federation for middle school students, said, "I often heard reports that the Earth's lifespan is running out, but I had never thought about what we should do. Through the time spent thinking about the campaign methods, I realized that efforts to preserve Damyang's ecology are ultimately the way to save ourselves."
Director Lee Sook said, "Preserving Damyang's ecological environment is a topic suitable for the COVID-19 period that has taken away our daily lives for two years. I think it is encouraging that the Damyang Student Autonomous Federation took the lead in addressing the problem of nature's retaliation. We will actively support students to develop the ability to solve various social problems and to take action."
